How Can We Help You?

We can help you achieve the “gold standard” of watershed stewardship on your property. Do you need information or assistance with:

  • Obtaining and installing a rain barrel to capture rooftop runoff?
  • Solving a persistent drainage/erosion problem on your property?
  • Installing trees and bushes along a stream-side corridor on your property?
  • Constructing stream bank fencing and stream crossings for horses or livestock?
  • Stabilizing an eroding stream bank that is threatening your home, road or property?
  • Reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticides on your yard or property?
  • Disposing of household hazardous wastes?
  • Re-directing your rooftop runoff for beneficial re-use in your yard or garden?
  • Having your septic tank inspected and pumped out every 2 to 3 years?
  • Manure management or erosion and runoff from agricultural lands?
  • Improving stormwater management designs for new structures to be built on your property?

Each of these “homeowner/landowner problems” is also a “watershed problem” that creates pollutants and/or excessive runoff that impair the streams and aquifers of the Watershed.

The Partnership can help to identify available programs and sources of information (and in certain cases technical and/or financial assistance) for land owners and managers within the Buck and Doe Run Watershed.

Your “first stop” is to contact the Watershed Coordinator at the Chester County Conservation District (Ms. Chotty Sprenkle, 610-925-4920) who will direct you to the appropriate program or agency for more information.
